Reporter suggests there’s internal conflict at LFC RE transfers

Jurgen Klopp wanted to bring in first-team players in this summer, but others at the club behind the scenes disagreed, French journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi has hinted on Twitter.

The reporter was answering questions after it became apparent Arsenal will sign Nicolas Pepe, a player Bouhafsi has heavily linked to Liverpool since the end of last season.

So far, with the transfer window set to shut in nine days’ time, Liverpool have bought 16-year-old Harvey Elliott from Fulham and 17-year-old Sepp van den Berg from FC Zwolle in Holland.

We really struggle to believe that after winning the Champions League in such breathtaking circumstances, Klopp would not have been financially backed in basically any manner he requested.

It’s well known that Klopp rates his current squad very highly and in fairness – there are not too many areas that necessarily require attention.

Yes, a left-back would be nice to support Andy Robertson – and another attacker would be handy should one of our three main forwards pick up an injury – but when everyone’s fit – the first-XI and bench is formidable.

What’s important now is that the fanbase is unified behind the boss, his team and our chances of success in 2019/20. We’re competing for seven trophies, so picking up a few would be nice!
