The reason why Neymar’s reps are meeting in Liverpool amid Barca rumours

PSG’s want-away superstar Neymar has kicked up a bit of a media storm this summer, with there being strong suggestions the Brazilian could return to his former club – Barcelona.

Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo report that the Brazil captain’s representatives are set to meet in Liverpool to iron out some details with Barcelona.

The reason they’re on Merseyside is a bit confusing until you realise one piece of information – the next European Club Association meeting, taking place on August 16, will be held in the area.

According to the same report, PSG and the Catalan club will take this opportunity to meet with one-another to discuss the potential big money transfer.

Naturally, there had been a few raised eyebrows when English-speaking fans saw simply ‘Neymar en Liverpool’ slapped on the front page of a Spanish newspaper.

But, of course, the idea of the 27-year-old moving to Liverpool is pure fiction, and the only reason the Brazilian’s representatives are in the city is purely for convenience.

Neymar made a record-breaking €222million move to the French capital two years ago, but it now seems he’s unhappy, and wants to leave Ligue 1 after bagging 51 goals in 58 appearances, with his former club seeming a likely destination.
