Fabinho’s wife takes to Twitter to react to Real Madrid rumours

After Colombian journalist Jose Luis Vergara claimed last night that Fabinho was set to join Real Madrid, the Brazilian’s wife has put an end to the bizarre suggestion on Twitter.

Vergara tweeted that Fabinho had agreed a contract at the Bernabeu until 2024, with a transfer fee of €65m plus €10m in add-ons, though the Liverpool ECHO quickly confirmed that it was nonsense.

Rebeca Tavares, Fabinho’s wife, also appeared to put an end to any rumours of an exit, as she took to Twitter in response.

Fabinho only arrived from AS Monaco last summer for £39 million, and he has proven to be a fantastic addition to the squad so far.

It’s no surprise to think that Real Madrid might want to acquire him given his ability, but there is no reason for him to leave. At this stage of the transfer window, signing a replacement of the required standard would be almost impossible.
