‘Wednesday could be fun’: Chelsea’s woes leave some Reds hugely confident for Supercup

Liverpool’s UEFA Supercup opponents Chelsea have suffered a nightmare start to the season against Manchester United.

Frank Lampard’s side were in the game for 60 minutes, but proceeded to capitulate defensively and fall to a 4-0 drubbing.

With Wednesday’s clash in Istanbul looming, there’s little the new manager can do in the short-term to address his side’s evident frailties.

And that has left some supporters expecting our considerably more ruthless frontline to run riot.

However, not all fans are dismissing the Blues’ chances.

They offered a variety of reasons to expect an improvement, including the return of key personnel…

…their determination to respond

…and the inevitable change in their approach.

It’s difficult to imagine they will be quite as vulnerable in midweek, having learned some harsh lessons. But still, if Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane were watching that, they’d probably have been thinking about taking home a match ball.
