What could happen with Coutinho’s future now English window has closed

Before the transfer deadline last Thursday, there was plenty of speculation that Coutinho could seal a loan move to a Premier League club.

He even turned down Spurs (Sky Sports), so is now still at Barcelona, who don’t really need him and without the possibility of a return to England – at least until January.

However, the window for European clubs still has 11 days to run, so our former Brazilian could end his Barca nightmare in the coming week.

It looks most likely that he’ll sign for PSG as part of a swap-deal for Neymar, according to RMC Sport in France, as cited by the Express, who think the French club may sell their controversial forward to the Catalan giants, provided they get some players in return.

Neymar, when fit, starts on the left for the Ligue 1 champions, so it would seemingly make sense for Phil to simply take his position in the side under Thomas Tuchel.

We’re not quite sure how Ernesto Valverde will select his Barca attackers, mind you, if Neymar arrived – with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann already demanding starting roles.

But none of that is our problem, of course!
