JW Henry’s tweets his relief (and happiness) at Liverpool’s victory

Liverpool’s owner summed up our European Super Cup victory over Chelsea in very simple terms on Twitter following our penalty win…

In fact, one word was all FSG’s chief needed!

We’d actually say the 5-4 penalty win, which followed an unnecessarily draining 2-2 draw, was anything but beautiful – but seeing Adrian celebrating on his knees, Jurgen Klopp running towards him like a mad-man and Jordan Henderson lifting the trophy – certainly was!

Unlike the Charity Shield, the Super Cup is an officially recognised trophy, so this one is going up on the Melwood honours board…

But we’d be disappointed if we didn’t add to it this season.

Our performances will need to be better than tonight, of course, with Chelsea the better side in a worrying first-half.

Klopp changed the side around, and it didn’t work, with James Milner off the pace, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain absent on the wing and Joe Gomez not offering plenty going forward.

We think Trent will start v Southampton, while Bobby simply has to start at St. Mary’s, considering the difference he made to the game and the fact he was our best player v Norwich on Friday.
