Adrian talks up LFC’s Premier League title chances ahead of Southampton fixture

Liverpool’s impromptu first team goalkeeper Adrian has talked up the Reds’ chances of lifting a long-awaited Premier League title this season ahead of a trip down south.

The Spaniard seems to have the taste for silverware, after helping the team secure their fourth UEFA Super Cup in the week, and aims even higher.

The Super Cup was Adrian’s first ever major honour, and it’d be glorious if the former Real Betis man were to be part of the squad that returns the league title to Anfield.

When you win you have a positive mind and the recovery is quickest and your body feels much better,he told the club’s official site.

We know it was a very long game with extra-time and we have to fly back to Liverpool. But I have a good feeling that the people are really focused on the next game, the Premier League.

If we want to win the title, we need to make sure we’re going to go for all the games 100 per cent.

It’s great how Adrian already sees himself as a core part of the squad, as he should do, with the former West Ham man crucial to Liverpool’s victory over Chelsea in Istanbul.

Adrian conceded in his first appearance for the club as the Reds ran out 4-1 winners of Premier League new-comers Norwich City, but he now wants to keep his first clean sheet of the season.

It could be the next step after the debut at Anfield and the first title on Wednesday,” he continued. “It could be a great step forward to keep the first clean sheet at Southampton on Saturday.

Obviously they know we are Liverpool and we’re going to go there to try and win. We need to do our jobs to the best of us and I think we can get the three points.

Adrian’s attitude is second to none – he knows, just as much as us, how much every single game matters. If we win the title by a single point and he keeps a clean sheet at St Mary’s, we’ll forever be indebted to him.
