Keita remains absent for Arsenal clash

Naby Keita has been ruled out of Liverpool’s first Premier League game against big six opposition this weekend, according to David Maddock of the Mirror.

Keita will be sidelined for the visit of Arsenal as he continues to struggle with a hip muscle injury.

There is fear, Maddock reports, that the midfielder could be out for a ‘while’.

Liverpool fans are growing steadily more concerned amid a spate of frustrating muscular problems for the 24-year-old.

Keita’s bid to truly announce himself in English football in his second season after only flashes of his capabilities last term has stalled.

With the Guinean unavailable, Klopp’s selection will likely to go one of two ways.

He could well opt for the Fabinho-Jordan Henderson-Georginio Wijnaldum midfield trio he tends to favour in big games.

Alternatively, he could hand Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain a start against his former club.

Ox strengthened his case when he turned in perhaps his most impressive and most confident performance since returning from his long-term layoff at Southampton last weekend.
