Some Liverpool fans have expressed their concern as the famous Liver Building in the city centre appears to have been painted blue.

Naturally, fans of the Reds would be irked if a symbol of the city resembled a totem to their rivals – as would fans of Everton, if the shoe was on the other foot.
It turns out that the Liver Building isn’t getting painted though. From afar, it looked as if royal blue paint was being applied to the perch beneath the Liver Bird statues.
As per the Liverpool Echo, the domes on top of the building, which support the world famous bird structures, are being waterproofed – with extra layers of protective material currently being applied to protect it from the elements.
With Everton recently sharing images of what they expect their new stadium on the docks to look like, and owner Farhad Moshiri having a stake in the Royal Liver Building, it’s to be expected that Liverpool fans may get anxious when what looks like blue paint is being applied to the famous landmark.
In truth, it would never have been blue paint – the Liverpool City Council wouldn’t allow the building to become something one club could laud over the other.
