Liverpool make stance known on Ryan Kent amid reports of attempts to force exit

Liverpool winger Ryan Kent was mysteriously absent from the U23s’ team as they travelled to London to face a strong Chelsea side.

It’s the kind of game he’d have normally starred in, but he was nowhere to be seen without explanation, and he is fully fit to play.

It has been reported by the Record in Scotland that the winger is set to dig in his heels and try to force through a move to Rangers before the transfer window shuts.

Maybe the two stories coincide?

According to the same report, Kent is ready to down tools if that’s what it takes, to get himself more regular first team football.

But the Liverpool Echo reports that a loan is not on the agenda, and no other form of deal has been suggested. Liverpool made it clear in recent negotiations with Roma over Dejan Lovren’s future that in certain situations, a loan is not seen as an acceptable form of compromise.

It’d be a shame if it come to this for the lad, but I understand why he’d want to push through a move. It’s just unfortunate that this wasn’t sorted out a few weeks ago.
