BT Sport have chosen their favourite match of the season – and it’s not Liverpool 4-0 Barcelona at Anfield.

Gini Wijnaldum and Divock Origi’s doubles, the greatest Anfield night there has ever been, that Trent Alexander-Arnold corner kick, and so much more: the game had everything.

But for BT Sport, it wasn’t enough, as the Liverpool ECHO report.

They chose Tottenham’s comeback against Ajax in their semi-final, which took place the day after the Anfield miracle.

Spurs were 1-0 down from the first leg and fell two behind on the night, but someone found the three away goals they required to progress, with Lucas Moura netting the decider in dramatic circumstances.

It was a great comeback, there is no doubt about that, and we know we’re biased, but surely the Reds’ match was better? To come back against Lionel Messi and co, without Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino, was surely the obvious choice.

We know which Champions League game was our favourite of the season, anyway…
