Michael Edwards shows unbelievable transfer prowess with latest eight-figure sale negotiation

Liverpool are in discussions with Serie A giants Fiorentina regarding a loan to buy of our teenage forward Bobby Duncan.

This is according to Football Insider, who claim the Italians would have to pay over £10m for the 18-year-old to make the deal permanent in 2020.

Duncan was left out of Liverpool U23s’ 4-2 win over Southampton last night, amid speculation a transfer could be completed in the coming days…

The striker tore it up for the U18s last season, forming a sublime partnership with Paul Glatzel, but his chances of first-team minutes this term are next to zero – especially considering Rhian Brewster can’t get on Jurgen Klopp’s bench right now.

As a result, we can understand why the player would fancy a move abroad for a greater immediate chance of game-time, following in the example of Jadon Sancho to Borussia Dortmund and others who’ve done well in Germany.

Still, Duncan is a scouser and the cousin of Steven Gerrard – and he’s still very raw. For Liverpool’s sporting director Michael Edwards to be potentially making £10m+ for a player we acquired for next to nothing just a year ago – who still hasn’t played for the first-team – is indicative of his superb ability to make profit on players.
