Reds forward Bobby Duncan, who claimed yesterday via his representatives that the Reds have bullied him and damaged his mental health, has broken his silence for the first time since the accusations were made.

Duncan tweeted ‘I just want to play football’ at 15:22 BST this afternoon, before immediately deleting the tweet, according to the Liverpool ECHO.

The Reds remain keen to keep Duncan and the 18-year-old, who is the cousin of Steven Gerrard, is under contract for another season at the club with whom he signed last summer, having arrived from Manchester City for a compensation fee of around £200,000.

Duncan’s representative Saif Rubie deleted his Twitter account earlier today after being involved in a discussion with Jamie Carragher yesterday afternoon soon after the statement he put together was released. A number of offensive tweets that he had previously sent were also uncovered.

Fiorentina were interested in signing Duncan and that was said to be his prefered destination, however it was reported this morning that they have found an alternative to the England youth international.
