Ryan Kent could still get the move he desires as Reds reportedly halve asking price

After Club Brugge joined the race for Ryan Kent this morning, it is now being reported that the 22-year-old could still head to Rangers, the team he spent last season on loan with.

Earlier in the summer, the Reds wanted around £12 million for the winger, but have reportedly halved that valuation in a bid to let Kent leave as he wants to.

Rangers could not afford to spend £12 million on one player, and it had looked like they would be priced out of a move, but it seems the Reds have had a change of heart.

With no other club coming close to matching the original valuation placed on Kent’s head, it makes sense to let him leave for a cut-price deal.

It is clear that while he is a decent player, Kent is some way off being a regular for the Reds’ first-team. Keeping hold of him would only have restricted chances for other players in the U23s.

A sale, even for a lower fee, makes sense for all parties and Kent will be delighted if he can reunite with Steven Gerrard again.
