Duncan Castles has claimed that the Reds will entertain offers for Mo Salah in the near future if he continues to perform at the world-class level he is currently at.
The logic for that is that Salah will want to leave for Barcelona, Real Madrid or Juventus at some point, despite the fact that the Egyptian won the Champions League with the Reds last season and is perfectly content.
Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Castles said: “There’s this kind of informed feeling in football that Salah might not stay at Liverpool for the entirety of his career if he has another season like the last two seasons he’s had and one of the really big names of European football – the absolute elite clubs – [were to come in for him].
“If a Barcelona or a Real Madrid, possibly Juventus, come in and say ‘we want to sign this player and we are prepared to go to the huge transfer fee that would be involved to take him’, whether he would push for that move…
“If he does, maybe that’s not something that Liverpool would be adverse to if the numbers are right for them.”
The suggestion that the champions of Europe, and alongside Manchester City, the best team in the world right now, are not one of the absolute elite clubs is quite frankly ludicrous.

Salah might not stay with the Reds for life, but the constant hinting and hoping that he will move on shortly is based on very little. Every player has his price, but Salah’s valuation would be absolutely enormous with a world-record offer surely being needed to even tempt the club to the negotiating table.
Of course, every side in the world would want Salah, but who could afford him? And why would he suddenly force his way out when the Reds want to keep him and he’s happy?
