“Dream come true” – Jake Cain is buzzing after signing new LFC contract

Liverpool youngster Jake Cain is thrilled to have signed a new contract with the club, and insists that he’ll now kick on from here.

The Academy graduate put pen to paper on a long-term deal with his childhood club earlier this week, and has described it as a dream come true.

The midfielder has been with the Reds since the age of nine, and looks to be one of the next breakout stars at Anfield.

It’s a dream come true really, the young lad told the club’s official website. “It has been one of my aspirations all my life and it has finally happened. I’m buzzing with that and all my family are made up as well.

I was at the Academy and Alex [Inglethorpe] called me into his room and offered it to me. I was over the moon to get it signed.

It’s brilliant to see a local lad (he’s originally from Wigan) going as far as he has at the club – it serves as an inspiration to the hundreds and thousands of young kids around the North West of England.

Cain was part of the Liverpool U19s’ side that kicked off their UEFA Youth League campaign with an impressive 1-1 draw against Napoli on Tuesday afternoon.

The creative midfielder has not long graduated from the U18s’ team, but understands that he cannot take continued success for granted.

You’ve got to keep your head down and keep working – and prove what else you can do. It’s not like you can [ease] off and relax, you’ve got to kick on and keep pushing,” he added.
