LFC offer Sadio Mane monster €250k per week contract until he’s 33 – report

Liverpool have rewarded star forward Sadio Mane by offering him a new deal, which would see him stay at Anfield until after his 33rd birthday, according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira.

The reporter, who works for Gazzetta dello Sport, claims that the new contract will see the Senegalese international pocket £11.5million per year.

Jurgen Klopp opted out of bringing in new senior players over the summer, and with the suggestion that Mane is set to be offered a long-term deal, it’s clear he’s happy with his first team squad.

Sadio shared the Premier League Golden Boot award with team-mate Mohamed Salah and Arsenal forward Pierre Emerick Aubameyang last season – he was also instrumental in our Champions League run.

Players like Mane don’t come around often, and it’s exciting to think about a man of his class sticking around at Anfield on a long-term basis.

Schira – the journalist who has made this claim – isn’t as renowned as the likes of James Pearce, Paul Joyce or Fabrizio Romano, but it’d be out of character for him to say this without some substance.

Rumours had circulated over the summer that La Liga club Real Madrid were interested in Mane, and this apparent move from Liverpool would surely quash any attempts on the player.
