Chelsea’s injury news hints at changed lineup for Lampard

On Sunday, Liverpool travel to west London to take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

We’ll be without first-choice goalkeeper Alisson and midfielder Naby Keita, but bar those two, Jurgen Klopp has almost an entire squad to choose from…

The Blues however are struggling a little more, with Mason Mount a doubt, their best defender Antonio Rudiger crocked and both Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi long-term absentees.

The Echo are claiming that N’Golo Kante and Emerson have trained today, meaning the pair will likely be able to start after being doubts earlier in the week.

Kante dominated us in the first-half of the Super Cup a few weeks back, while Emerson is a big upgrade on the defensively shabby Marcos Alonso.

We reckon Lampard will field a midfield three of Jorginho, Kante and Matteo Kovacic, with Pedro, Willian and Tammy Abraham up top.

At least we no longer have to deal with Eden Hazard, so often the scourge of Liverpool in seasons gone by, but Chelsea’s team is strong and shouldn’t be underestimated.

A draw wouldn’t be a bad result, but a win would be terrific following our midweek defeat to Napoli.

We’re backing Jurgen Klopp’s boys to make it happen.
