Liverpool fancy Arsenal reject after stunning start to season

Liverpool are being linked to PSV forward Donyell Malen by Italian outlet Calciomercato, cited in Sports Mole.

The source is an admittedly poor one, but claims our scouts have been impressed with the 20-year-old’s blistering start to the season.

Malen has ten goals in 13 appearances for PSV this season and has already been capped twice by the Dutch national side.

The striker was on the books at Arsenal between 2015 and 2017, but left after the Gunners deemed him not good enough.

Now he’s making them regret the decision following a blistering start to the campaign.

Many would argue Liverpool need striking enforcements, but we’d suggest that buying a 20-year-old would simply block Rhian Brewster’s path to the first-team.

Jurgen Klopp has promised the teenager chances, and his first will surely come next week in the EFL Cup v MK Dons – so until Brewster proves he’s good enough or otherwise – we highly doubt there’ll be a new young striker arriving to backup the likes of Roberto Firmino, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.
