‘Why should we doubt?’ – Pep sends message to LFC amid Man City injury crisis

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is confident his squad will weather the storm as they’re hit with several injuries to first team players.

Aymeric Laporte suffered a serious knee injury which will see him miss around six months of action, and John Stones picked up a knock which will see him out for over a month.

But Guardiola is happy enough with his options, and thinks his team is capable of getting through this rough patch. “It’s not a problem, it’s a challenge we have to accept it and be positive and we will do it and be happy and work hard,he’s quoted as saying by the Express.

After what happened in the last (three) years, I didn’t have doubts. The result was good but the performance was even better.

Of course we can lose. We know before every game we can lose, even tomorrow. We have to have that feeling. But when we lose one Premier League game in eight months, why should we have doubts?

Sometimes the opponent is better or more precise, or sometimes they do something we don’t expect or we don’t have the best performance.

But I didn’t have doubts after one defeat what the reaction of the team would be because they’ve shown it many times in many years.

Injuries are a part of the game, and you hate to see them – friend or foe – so hopefully there are no more serious lay offs any time soon.

But let’s hope that City do drop some points over the coming weeks as Pep is forced to rotate his team more than he’d have liked.

City are up against Watford in the Premier League today, ahead of our trip to Stamford Bridge – and Jurgen Klopp will be desperate for three points in London.
