Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has urged his players to be more like the Reds after Jurgen Klopp’s men beat his team despite being far from at their best.
The Reds looked exhausted having played away from home in Napoli earlier in the week, but ground out the huge win which could prove to be one of the massively important matches they look back on fondly in May.
After the game, via the Liverpool ECHO, Lampard said: “We have to aspire to be like Liverpool. They come here and don’t play their best and still win the game.
“Liverpool are a strong team and you can lose. The difference between us and Liverpool is that we aren’t consistently as good as them or Manchester City week in, week out. To work towards those levels is hard. It’s a daily thing.”
