“Never in doubt!”: Reds fans react as Jurgen Klopp scoops major award

Jurgen Klopp has tonight been named the FIFA Men’s Coach of the Year for 2019 having guided the Reds to a sixth European Cup in Madrid in May.

The boss was completely deserving of the award, and while he will play it down, the accolade is very prestigious.

It, of course, also recognises the work of his backroom staff, including the likes of Pep Ljinders, his assistant, and John Achterberg, who had a big say in signing Alisson Becker and who has coached the Brazilian expertly.

After the award was announced, Reds supporters were quick to react on Twitter.

Having beaten Chelsea at Stamford Bridge over the weekend, it has been quite a few days for the manager. Virgil van Dijk and Alisson are also up for awards this evening, with both expected to do well in their respective categories.

Upon returning to Merseyside, Klopp and Van Dijk will be preparing for the game against MK Dons on Wednesday night, while Alisson continues his recovery from injury.
