Harvey Elliott produced a number of moments of exceptional skill last night, as well as cracking MK Dons’ bar on two occasions!
On another night, the 16-year-old could easily have scored two – but in many ways – perhaps it’s good he didn’t as the hype would have been incredible and the pressure for him to appear on the Premier League bench quite large.
Below, you’ll see his highlights reel from the game. His touch is exquisite, but what impresses us most is his composure. He’s not in the slightest bit nervous or overawed and plays with the belief that he’s the best player on the pitch, which we love.
He doesn’t have scintillating pace, but he’s no slouch, and his agility to change direction quickly with the ball stuck to his feet is brilliant.
Elliott reminds us a little of a young David Silva, and if he has half the career the Spaniard has enjoyed, we’d be over the moon.
