The Reds beat Sheffield United this afternoon at Bramall Lane, narrowly overcoming Chris Wilder’s men by a single goal to nil.
It was a tale of missed chances for Jurgen Klopp’s side, with Sadio Mane the most guilty when it came to that, but Gini Wijnaldum netted the winner with more than a little help from goalkeeper Dean Henderson. Watch the Dutchman’s volley from 18 yards by clicking here.
A battling performance from #LFC and a win in the end. Got to be a positive from Jurgen Klopp’s perspective that his players were able to grind out the victory from somewhere. The finishing of chances perhaps less enthusing.

At full-time, Jurgen Klopp admitted that he was frustrating for much of that game, though anyone who saw him on the touchlines could have worked that out.
Via the Daily Express, he said: “For us it was important to win, we had unbelievably big chances, in the first half we had two big chances and in the second one which we scored from.
“These games, they are not all beauties and you have to work hard for the results. One team deserved to win, which was us, but all respect to Sheffield United, they were tough.
“I was frustrated, and at half time we spoke about it. We started well, but you have to do the same things again and again.
“They threw everything at us, they worked incredibly hard, they were a real threat. I am fine with the game, not overly happy but it happens. We didn’t play our best football but there we are.”

It must be seen as a good thing that the Reds were able to win the match despite not playing at their best. Sheffield United deserve a lot of credit, too, for their closing down.
The home side gave Mane and Mo Salah no time at all on the ball and made it really tough. At the end of the day, though, the Reds have now secured 21 league points from a possible 21 so far this season.
