Dortmund chief expects Sancho to leave; Klopp a known fan of England flyer

Jadon Sancho has been linked with moves to some of Europe’s biggest clubs, after a glittering showing in the Bundesliga with Dortmund.

The former Manchester City starlet has been touted to re-join his former club, but also has garnered interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester United.

It would surely sting the Citizens if their former player opted to join one of their rivals, but it’s entirely possible with more opportunities to get into the starting XI elsewhere.

Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he’s a fan of the Dortmund forward. “Buying English players is a smart idea because we would never have a chance to get Sancho,he told the Telegraph in February.

We are not blind. We saw him, we liked him and then we think, ‘Can we get him?’ No, because English clubs don’t sell to other English clubs. I don’t know exactly what the reason is for that but they don’t do it.

As Dortmund now seem resigned to the near-fact that they won’t be able to keep Sancho at the club on a long-term basis, Jurgen may get another chance to get his man.

Michael Zorc – Dortmund’s sporting director – has admitted that he won’t be at the club by the time Sancho reaches his prime. “You don’t have to be a prophet to know he won’t play here for another five years,he is quoted as saying by Kicker (via RTK).

Encouraging stuff for any club interested in the teenager, and Liverpool seems to be one of the clubs eyeing up a move, but it’ll be a tough battle for the talented Englishman.
