“Inspiring” – What Mane & Keita told Klopp about UCL opponents Salzburg

Jurgen Klopp has been informed by Sadio Mane and Naby Keita of just how passionate Salzburg fans can be, with the Austrian champions set to create an atmosphere at Anfield.

But the German boss isn’t too concerned by this because of the Liverpool faithful that will surely overpower our visitors’ voice in the mid-week fixture.

Klopp is looking forward to welcoming the visiting entourage to the city of Liverpool. “I welcome Jesse Marsch, his players, staff, officials and supporters of FC Salzburg to Liverpool,” he said in his programme notes (as per the Echo).

For the visiting fans, I hope they get a chance to enjoy the hospitality and warmth of this wonderful city. What an incredible team and a superb head coach they have. Jesse has them in a really good way.

They are so positive and their results show this. They love to attack and they are a team that attacks with confidence and scores often.

Teams that like to attack often fall into the palms of the boss, as our pressing and counter-attacking abilities often overpower opposition players.

But it’s not just the impact of what’s on the field that Klopp has remarked on – he’s explained that Mane and Keita have given him an inside scoop on Salzburg.

Returning to the point I made at the very beginning, we are back at home tonight after what feels like an extended time away from Anfield, but I’m certain it won’t take us long to feel like we’ve ever been away,” he added.

Our visitors from Austria will make loud noise constantly. Sadio and Naby have both spoken to me about how passionate their supporters are and told the boys they create a really inspiring atmosphere for their players.

This is cool because I know in these moments Anfield responds with its best face.” A bit of a war cry from the boss to round this off – let’s do it!
