Shock as LFC boss Jurgen Klopp turns up at Ashton Town Ladies’ match

Players of Ashton Town AFC Ladies must have thought they were seeing things when Jurgen Klopp turned up on the sidelines at one of their games.

The Liverpool boss was taking his dog for a walk in Formby when he caught sight of a football match being played nearby, and he couldn’t help himself.

It didn’t take long before people began to recognise him for who he was, and at the half-time whistle, people flooded to the German manager.

Rob, a Liverpool fan, spoke to the Liverpool Echo about the event. “It was pouring with rain and the park was completely empty. There were only spectators watching the girls play,he said.

But across the pitch, some of the parents noticed this tall gentlemen walking his dog. There were a couple of us that are Liverpool fans and we were shocked when we recognised that it was Jurgen Klopp.

When the half-time whistle went, all the girls started screaming and running to him, but he really didn’t mind, he took it all in his stride.

I love stories like this – it really goes to show how much of a man of the people he is. He could have easily put his head down and kept walking, but he wanted to mingle with some locals.

Rob went on to explain to the Echo that he told Klopp that he’s a legend, but the Liverpool boss was overly modest about it all.

I’ve got a feeling there will be a few extra people keeping an eye on Ashton Town AFC Ladies fixtures now, as they have themselves a celebrity supporter!
