“We deserved it” – Rodgers believes Leicester should have taken points off LFC

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers believes they deserved to walk away from Anfield with a point, after losing 2-1 against Liverpool.

The former Reds boss actually thinks that the second half suggests the Foxes were looking the more likely to take the lead and win it.

Liverpool would go on to overturn Leicester’s equaliser through a dramatic late penalty via James Milner, following a foul in the area on fellow goal-scorer Sadio Mane.

I thought we deserved it. It was a very competitive game and I had great pride in watching the team today. We were playing against the European champions,he told BBC Sport.

They’re sensational team – they’ve got speed, strength, power and the goal threat., but we were always in the game to come away with that personality shows the development in the team.

Right to the very end, I felt that we were maybe the team that then – in the second half – [could] get the winning goal.

Rodgers is fairly graceful in defeat, and apart from a horrific challenge from Hamza Choudhury and some handbags involving Ayoze Perez, it was an enjoyable contest.

Liverpool’s will to just not lose is incredible. Something feels different this season – we are simply refusing to lose games in the Premier League at the minute.

Long may that continue!
