Reds reportedly prepared to listen to offers for talented youngster in January

The Reds will listen to offers for Canadian forward Liam Millar in January, according to Football Insider, with doubts over his long-term ability to break into the first team under Jurgen Klopp.

The report claims that Millar, 19, is out of contract at the end of the season, though that is untrue as he signed a new three-year deal back in January.

He is currently on loan at Scottish Premier League club Kilmarnock this season, where he has contributed a goal and an assist in nine appearances so far. He has been capped six times by his country, according to TransferMarkt.com.

Sometimes, the best career move for a player is to find a new club at the end of their teenage years if no obvious route to the senior team emerges, and with the likes of Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott and Rhian Brewster all ahead of him in the youth ranks pecking order, that might well be the case in this instance.

Millar clearly is a talented player – you don’t play at international level by accident – but it seems that a new challenge could be imminent for the forward.
