Manchester United man admits Reds clash will be ‘brutal’

Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe says the Red Devils are expecting a ‘brutal’ game in just under two week’s time when the Reds head to Old Trafford.

After contrasting starts to the Premier League season, the Reds find themselves 15 points clear of United after just eight matches of the campaign, and are leading the table by more points than any team in the Premier League has managed at this stage.

The trip to play United will always be tricky, but the Reds are firm favourites and it does not sound like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are looking forward to it.

Via Goal, defender Tuanzebe said: “It’s always a big game. Through my academy stages, Liverpool is a must-win. It’s a brutal game. It wasn’t a tippy-tappy game; no matter what age group.

“Obviously coming here to the first team, I expect more of the same. It will be a game where we need to grind it out and stick together and produce a result.”

If the Reds can win their next three against United, Aston Villa and Spurs, they will head into the Anfield game against Manchester City at least eight points clear of Pep Guardiola’s side.

That has to be the aim for now with every single point absolutely vital even this early in the season.
