Solksjaer fears the sack if Liverpool batter Man United – report

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer fears that a heavy defeat against Liverpool would force the club to sack the former star of the Red Devils.

The Norwegian has recently described the face off as “the perfect game” for United after the international break, after their worst start in 30 years.

That being said, the Daily Mail understand that he fears a heavy defeat at the hands of the Reds will force the United board to sack him.

The feat is that Ed Woodward will come under pressure to make a move on the United boss, if he doesn’t earn a respectable result at home against Liverpool.

It’s not ridiculous to suggest a handsome defeat to your most bitter rivals would be enough for your employer to send you packing, but I’m not sure if his reported attitude is correct.

United surely can’t think that sacking Ole is the answer here, as much as it’s not been going to plan for the Norwegian boss.

They’d become the Chelsea of old – a team that constantly rotates out their managers and so the new boss will have to rebuild again.

It’s a bit of a vicious cycle – players get excited to play for a new boss, but the old ways creep back in. With Jurgen Klopp, there was no immediate success, but we got there in the end.

Ole has barely changed things at Old Trafford – give him a proper chance.
