Where everyone on the bench from Klopp’s first match-day squad is now

Posted by

Liverpool have come a long way in the last few years, going from having a bench with the likes of Joao Teixeira and Jerome Sinclair on it to Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi.

We know where big Shaq and Div are, but what’s happened to the players that used to populate our bench on match-days?

Since it’s been four years of Klopp, people have shared our first every match-day squad and it’s fair to say that some of the names on the bench raise the eyebrows.

Adam Bogdan

The former Wigan Athletic stopper hasn’t played for a another club since leaving Liverpool over the summer, but is still down to represent the Hungarian national team.

Kolo Toure

The cult hero that is Kolo Toure was last seen at Anfield over the weekend as the Reds won 2-1 against Leicester City, as a coach for the Foxes, cheering for the visitors when the score was 1-1.

Connor Randall

The full-back has been on for a few loans since graduating from the Academy in 2015, and has intriguingly signed for Bulgarian first league club Arda Kardzhali after leaving Liverpool.

Joe Allen

Wee Joe signed for Stoke City, after leaving Liverpool in 2016, and hasn’t looked back, crafting a more than respectable chapter in his career with the Staffordshire outfit.

Joao Teixeira

The Portuguese attacking midfield signed for the Reds in 2012, and joined up at the youth tanks, to quite a bit of fanfare as he’d made waves in Portugal.

Teixeira went on to leave Anfield, after a few semi-successful loans, and now plies his trade for Vitoria de Guimaraes in his homeland.

Jordon Ibe

Once upon a time, the former England youth prospect was touted to be the next Raheem Sterling by some Liverpool fans.

The 23-year-old now plays for Bournemouth, and is enjoying a fairly successful spell with the club, but is still yet to find the eye for goal that he had when on loan at Derby County.

Jerome Sinclair

The forward forced himself out of Liverpool, around the time that Raheem Sterling did something similar to get a move to Manchester City.

It didn’t work out quite as well for Sinclair as he’s now playing for VVV-Venlo in the Eredivisie on loan from Watford – and is yet to score for either club.
