Allegri sets United deadline which could have big impact on Liverpool tie – Report

Reports emanating from Italy suggest that Massimo Allegri would consider taking the Manchester United job – but only if he was offered it imminently.

Gazzetto dello Sport claim that the former Juventus coach will happily take the reigns at Old Trafford, but only if he’s given the job in the next couple of weeks – allowing him time to turn the season around and judge the squad appropriately before the January transfer window.

This could have implications on Liverpool, of course, as we travel to United on October 20 for the biggest game of the season so far, following this international break.

We still fully expect Ole Gunnar Solksjaer to be in charge, despite the Norwegian’s horrible start to the campaign – but with Ed Woodward – a quick-fire sacking in favour of a shiny new exotic manager is by no means an impossibility. Just ask David Moyes, then Louis van Gaal.
