Van Dijk drops Salah hint that’s music to Liverpool’s ears

We have to admit, not long after celebrating James Milner’s winning penalty against Leicester City on Saturday, we were worried about Mo Salah’s ankle injury following the tackle from Hamzer Choudhury that saw him limp off the field.

The grimace on his face and the manner in which he hugged Jurgen Klopp on the touchline suggested it was potentially a bad one – an injury that could maybe keep him out for a month – but thankfully, scans revealed no real damage.

And now Virgil van Dijk has explained that thanks to the international break, the Egyptian King will be back for the Manchester United fixture on October 20.

“I think he should be not too bad,” van Dijk told Sky Sports, cited in the Daily Express.

“The good thing he has plenty of time to recover. He’ll probably get a time to recover as well.

“So I’m not concerned that he’s not going to be ready for United away.”

Salah has scored six goals this term and racked up three assists – with some suggestions he’s yet to find his top form.

That’s the expectations of our sublime no.11, who in terms of numbers, is still our most effective attacker. (He actually creates more chances than Sadio Mane, despite media rhetoric.)

United are there for the taking right now, and although they’ll be massively up for this one, with a noisy Old Trafford behind them, Liverpool are by far the better team.

We need to keep the ball early on and hush the supporters, before targeting the incredibly weak fullbacks.

Then, the front-three must take their chances when they’re presented – which they will be.

We can’t wait already!
