Emre Can cries for help: Ex-LFC man ‘unhappy’ & could join Manchester United

This is a potentially very interesting story.

Emre Can, unhappy in Italy and not part of Maurizio Sarri’s plans with Juventus, has been reportedly offered to Manchester United by the Serie A giants.

That’s according to Tuttosport, who claim Mario Mandzukic could also switch from the Old Lady to England.

Can is openly disgruntled having made just three appearances in Italy’s top flight, all from the bench, so far this term – totalling 79 minutes of football.

“I’m not happy [at Juventus ] right now. I don’t play much at the moment,” Can told Football365 after starring for Germany against Argentina on Wednesday night…

“Last season I played a lot. Especially in important games for Juventus. And I also played well there.

“I haven’t had a chance this season.

“But now I think, when I come back to the club, I will get chances again.

“I am definitely grateful to Joachim Low. Because I didn’t play much in the club and he invited me anyway.

“Nevertheless, he gave me the chance. That’s why I was simply happy that I played again.”

Can would bolster United’s midfield, and we’re sure he’d probably quite fancy a move back to the Premier League and a chance of regular game-time…

It would be strange seeing him turn out for our bitter rivals, but in truth, it’s not something that worries us too much.

Fabinho is a far, far better footballer and we probably wouldn’t have signed the Brazilian if Can had renewed terms at Anfield…

He’ll improve United, but there’s so much room between us and them right now and a player of Can’s ability is not going to plug it by himself.
