Nike deal could smooth Jadon Sancho Anfield switch – Liverpool.com

Yesterday, we published an article about #Sancho2020, after Borussia Dortmund posted a picture of their flying winger with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez.

Liverpool fans reacted to the picture online and started prophesizing about the wonderkid joining at the end of this season to bolster our already jaw-dropping front-three.

Now, Liverpool.com have joined in – penning a longer article on the possibility of Sancho arriving at Anfield – although in truth – it’s not based on any inside information.

They think though that if we win our High Court battle with New Balance, and sign a deal with Nike to be the club’s sponsor – Sancho’s potential move would be made simpler.

Editor Kristian Walsh writes:

“But if it is to be Nike, then it would open up one of the brand’s most marketable young entities. Sancho is young, English and possesses the unquantifiable, intangible coolness which is associated with the Oregon-based company. Much like how Virgil van Dijk adorned the side of a hotel in Liverpool city centre, Sancho is a ready-made billboard across the world.

“Considered one of the leaders of the next generation (a group which Trent Alexander-Arnold is also part of), Sancho would continue Liverpool’s ascension into becoming the biggest club in world football, both on and off the pitch.”

Dortmund have already admitted Sancho will leave sooner rather than later – and with Liverpool not signing anybody in the summer – our coffers are full.

Jurgen Klopp won’t enjoy spending £100m+ on one player, but in this day and age, that’s the figure required to secure readymade world-class talent – especially as young as Sancho who theoretically has room to improve and could play for the next decade.
