Jurgen Klopp has achieved something no Premier League manager has for nearly a quarter of a century

Jurgen Klopp won the Premier League manager of the month award for September, it was announced this week, and according to Opta, he became the first manager to win back-to-back awards at the beginning of a season since 1995/96.

The Reds beat Newcastle United, Chelsea and Sheffield United during September to maintain their 100 per cent record in the league, after wins against Norwich City, Southampton, Arsenal and Burnley the month before.

Only eight games have been played so far despite the fact we are already in the middle of the second international break of the campaign, but Klopp and his team could have done no more.

As well as wins in the Premier League, the Reds are in decent shape in the Champions League thanks to the thrilling 4-3 victory over Red Bull Salzburg and are through to face Arsenal in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
