Kai Havertz speaks out on potential switch as Reds continue to be linked

Bayer Leverkusen midfield prodigy Kai Havertz has been linked with every top club in the world over the last couple of seasons, and there seems to be a growing feeling that he will move on next summer.

The price-tag is set to be enormous – probably in excess of £100 million – but that would not put the Reds or any other side off given the talent the German has.

Bayern Munich and Barcelona will also be in the mix for his signature, while Chelsea and Manchester City are also regularly name-dropped when it comes to interest.

Now, while away with the German national team, Havertz, who scored 20 goals last season, has spoken out on the subject of the transfer rumours.

Havertz said, via the Manchester Evening News: “I listen to many people but in the end it will be my decision. I will embrace any advice Low will give me because he has a lot experience – it wouldn’t be smart to not listen to him.”

Germany boss Joachim Low had previously said: “He’s supposed to be playing in Leverkusen, where he plays regularly. That’s the biggest advantage for a young player like that.

“He made a clear decision for himself and with those around him to stay in Leverkusen. I don’t know what will happen next year, but he certainly has many opportunities. I already trust him to have a very good career, absolutely, but he has already started.”

Like Havertz’s national team coach says, Havertz has already done a lot with his career so far. Whoever he ends up representing next, fans will be treated to some top-class performances – and most Reds supporters will be hoping that is at Anfield.
