‘Might as well sit in the studio’: Reds man slammed for international performance

England lost a European Championship qualifying match for the first time in more than a decade last night, playing horrifically as they lost 2-1 to the Czech Republic.

Not one England player came out of the game with any credit, but Reds captain Jordan Henderson was predictably one of those to take most of the flack.

But it was not just supporters on Twitter who were quick to jump on his back: Roy Keane went in two-footed on Henderson at half-time, alongside West Ham United player Declan Rice.

Via the Daily Mail, he said: “It’s been poor. I don’t think England have got going. They had a lucky break, a penalty after five minutes, and you’re thinking they’re maybe going to kick on from there.

“They’ve been really sloppy, Henderson and Rice – they might as well sit with us in the studio.”

Henderson always seems to take the blame more often than any other player. He did not have the best game in the world last night but many others were just as bad if not worse.

From a Reds perspective, it would not be a bad thing if Henderson was left out of the England team to play Bulgaria on Monday night with that huge clash at Old Trafford to come next weekend in the Premier League.
