Dortmund sporting director makes Jadon Sancho transfer admission as Reds links persist

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has admitted that star winger Jadon Sancho will leave the club sooner rather than later, with there being no chance at all he will still be there in five years.

Speculation is increasing all the time regarding a move to the Premier League, with Anfield and Old Trafford the destinations most often suggested.

Zorc did not admit that Sancho could leave as early as next summer, but the fact that he is already on record preparing for the England youngster’s departure is probably a sign that a move is not too far away.

He told Kicker, via Inside Futbol: “No decision has been made on that but you do not have to be a prophet to say that Jadon will certainly not be here for another five years.

“He knows very well that he has undergone this positive development at Borussia Dortmund. I doubt that it would have been possible at a top English club.

“We trust the players early and are not afraid of playing them early. He acknowledges that.”

If Sancho does not leave Dortmund next summer – and it is increasingly expected that he will – he will almost certainly depart the summer after that.

So far, Barcelona and Real Madrid have not really been credited with an interest, but there are going to be a long line of English sides interested in bringing him back to the Premier League.

The Reds will have as much chance as anyone at making #Sancho2020 (or #Sancho2021) a reality.
