Real Madrid enter the race for exciting reported Reds target

Real Madrid have apparently ‘joined the race’ to sign Erling Haaland, the 19-year-old Norwegian forward, who currently plays for Red Bull Salzburg, according to a report in FourFourTwo.

Haaland scored at Anfield in the 4-3 game a couple of weeks ago in the Champions League, and has been linked with several big clubs including the Reds and Manchester United over the last few weeks.

During the summer, he scored nine goals in one game for Norway’s U20s team against Honduras at the World Cup in Poland. So far this season, he has netted 18 times in just 11 matches for his club side.

It would be no surprise for the Reds to be in for Haaland given his obvious talent, though Rhian Brewster is, of course, already at the club.

The England youth international is just as highly-rated and the Reds are probably too invested in his development to pay the sort of fee Salzburg would demand.

The Reds will definitely be taking a look at Haaland, but at this stage it is more likely that he will end up elsewhere.
