Brilliant: LFC receive double injury boost with Reds likely to field best XI v United

Liverpool will start Alisson against Manchester United, and Mo Salah will also be fit to play from the outset, reports Andy Hunter of the Guardian.

The world’s best keeper has only played for around 20 minutes this term, limping off injured in the first-half of our fixture v Norwich on Premier League opening night.

But he’s used this latest international break to get up to full speed at Melwood, and he’s ready to take Adrian’s spot between the sticks.

Thankfully, the Spaniard has done very well in Alisson’s absence, with LFC eight from eight in the top flight so far.

Salah was injured v Leicester last time out, after a nasty tackle on his ankle, but no lasting damage was done and the Egyptian should be ready

Oddly, Hunter makes no comment on Joel Matip, who’s missed our past two victories – so he’s the only player from our first-choice starting XI who might not make it.

However, there’s been zero reports of an extended injury, so we’re assuming the Cameroonian will be fit.
