Liverpool are planning to sell Adam Lallana – report

Liverpool are reportedly getting ready to offload midfielder Adam Lallana as he finds himself on the fringes of Jurgen Klopp’s plans.

The Englishman has made just one start this season – at MK Dons, and it doesn’t look like he’s going to squeeze his way back into the picture.

With Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain recently being struck down with injuries, you’d have expected Lallana to get more minutes than he has.

It’s Football Insider who claim he’s on the move – and they cite a ‘Liverpool source’ as credit. They say that if Lallana can’t force his way back into the team then they’ll sell him.

I suppose it’s nice that Klopp has apparently told the player to prove his worth, instead of just booting him out of the team with no chance.

Lallana has recently been used in a holding midfield role as he hopes to show his versatility to Klopp. You’d expect he’s taken a leaf from James Milner on that one.

The same report states that the player’s contract is due to run out in the summer, but the club have an option to extent it by 12 months.

The nature of this report seems to suggest that the Reds will activate this extension clause, but then move Lallana on if he doesn’t get back in the picture.
