“It is about respect” – Dejan Lovren reveals what it’s like to work under Jurgen Klopp

Posted by

Dejan Lovren joined Liverpool five years ago, and whatever you think of him the man has always given 100% and wore his heart on his sleeve.

The Croatian arrived at Anfield just one year before Jurgen Klopp would begin his reign with the Reds, and has seen his role reduce over the years.

Our No.6 believes that it’s the finer details that make Klopp – and Liverpool – a special place to be, and why we’re not like other clubs.

We started to believe when he said, ‘from doubters to believers’,he told the Daily Mail.

He changed things in the club, from small details like saying “good morning” to everyone to cleaning your table. Some part of these details are missing in some clubs.

It is simple things. It is about the food, he brought in people who are the best in these positions, and he knows what he is doing.

We are, I think, raised at my age that when you see an older person you will say “good morning”. It is about respect. When you have this outside of the pitch you will feel it also on the pitch.

Liverpool finished eighth in Klopp’s first [half]-season, but we haven’t looked close to repeating that since the German instilled his ways at Anfield.

We’ve gone from strength to strength under the boss, and Loren has put a great deal of that success to things that happen off the field.

We’ve all seen the videos of Klopp and how well loved he is by everyone he works with – there’s no way you wouldn’t give that man 110% every time he asks you to do anything!
