Jurgen Klopp braced for “the hardest period ever” at Liverpool

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has discussed the possibility of the Reds winning the Premier League title this season, and says he’s braced for “the hardest period ever”.

The Reds are in a strong position in the table at the moment, with the advantage of already being three points ahead of Manchester City with a game to play at Anfield.

Taking a lead in such an early stage of the season is by no means a guarantee that we’ll be in the same position in a few months or even weeks, but it’s a good start.

Liverpool are up against Spurs this weekend, and three points is imperative to keep City at an arm’s length. “We are in a better position than we would have expected at the start of the season,he told Sky Sports.

Are we already through? No. We have created a proper basis to work with. The hardest period ever will come up again. November, December, crazy.

We have to be lucky in some moments. We have to fight for it, and that’s what we do. No guarantees.

It’d be naive of Klopp to suggest anything other than it’s far too early to know if we’re going to go all the way this season, and I’m glad it’s not in his character to even think that.

The boss has kept himself grounded, as we look to keep the pressure on City. Like Klopp said, we are in a better position than what could have been expected.

Let’s hope that continues – all we can do is win our games and move on.
