Liverpool interested in out-of-favour defender Daniele Rugani – report

Liverpool are reportedly keen on bringing Juventus centre half Daniele Rugani to Anfield, after the 25-year-old has found himself out-of-favour with the Old Lady.

Rugani hasn’t managed to get much game time, since the return of Leonardo Bonucci, and Cacliomercato are linking the Reds with a move for him.

The same report claims that we will face competition from Serie A giants AC Milan, and if he’s struggling to break into Juventus’ ageing defence, Rugani may prefer to stay in his homeland.

The Italian could join up with Alessio Romagnoli at Milan and form the defensive partnership that some Azzurri fans believed would be the next great defensive duo for the four-time World Cup winners.

The same report also suggests that Manchester United and Arsenal are keeping an eye on Rugani, and that’s two more clubs where he’s more likely to get first team football than at Anfield.

If he’s wanting to leave the best team in Italy for more playing time, it’s unlikely that he’s going to make a move to Liverpool and fancy challenging Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Joe Gomez and even Dejan Lovren for a place.

If Lovren were to move to either AC Milan or Roma in a coming transfer window, there’s a shout that Jurgen Klopp could be interested in a new centre half, but it wouldn’t suit the Italian, in my opinion.
