“I dream of joining Liverpool” – Ivory Coast star William Togui fantasizes about LFC

KV Mechelen striker William Togui has laid out a come and get me plea to Liverpool after admitting his love for the Premier League and the Reds.

The 22 year old forward has managed six goals from 12 appearances in the second division of the Belgian football pyramid, and is eyeing up a move to the top flight in England.

My ambition is to play at the top level. I would like to show my talent in a big league, like the Premier League,” he’s quoted as saying by SportMania (h/t Liverpool Echo).

I’m aiming for England because it suits my style of play. I dream of joining Liverpool, a club who have the culture of winning. I like challenges.

Nobody would argue that Togui has done well for the Belgian outfit, but the step up from the second tier there is quite the jump to the Premier League.

That being said, the young striker does have time to improve, and is in no way suggesting that he’s on the bring of making a move to the Reds – he’s merely expressing his appreciation of the club.

Togui is from the Ivory Coast, and with Reds’ stars Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, Joel Matip and Naby Keita excelling on the English and European stage, it’s hardly a surprise that Anfield appears as an idyllic destination to a rising star from the same continent as the quartet.
