Klopp explains LFC’s inability to keep clean-sheets this season

Liverpool have barely kept a clean-sheet, in any competition, all season.

In fact, including the Super Cup, we’ve kept just three clean-sheets in 18 matches – and they came against Burnley and Sheffield United in the Premier League and MK Dons in the EFL Cup…

Last night we completely dominated a Genk outfit visiting Anfield as massive underdogs, but still managed to concede from a corner.

In fairness, Liverpool have lost one game – away to Napoli – all campaign – which is the far, far more important stat.

But it is a little irritating that we cannot keep a side from netting v Alisson and the world’s best defenders at the moment.

“It’s not really a worry, to be honest, but it’s of course not what we want,” the Liverpool boss told BT Sport after the game, cited in the Mirror.

“All the goals we conceded were completely different. They were all different, so it’s not about defending, it’s about being 100 per cent spot on in the situations and we were not.

“We know that and it’s what we have to work on and what we will do.”

This sounds to us like it’s purely a concentration issue.

It does seem like every time a weak side has a half-decent attack against us at the moment, it finds the back of the net – which we need to eradicate before Sunday’s clash with Manchester City – arguably the best team on the planet.

The likes of Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero will punish any defensive lapses, so it’s vital we tighten up.
