“I love LFC & still feel in it in my heart” – Sturridge talks about “new challenge” at Trabzonspor

Daniel Sturridge has now played six games for his new club, Trabzonspor, and it still seems a bit surreal that he isn’t a Liverpool player anymore.

He was with the Reds for the best part of seven years, and created some memories with the fans, which culminated in winning the 2019 Champions League.

Of course he had to go out with a bang!

Now Sturridge has spoken out about his time at Anfield, and his new challenges ahead in Turkey. “I think it’s a new challenge for me. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone,he’s quoted as saying by De Marke (via LFC Transfer Room).

Because I have been playing in Premier League for 12-13 years. I love Liverpool and I’m still feeling in it deep in my heart.

When I was playing for Liverpool people always showed me love. In here attention on me is very high. I hope I will do my dance on here too. Scoring goals is like an obsession for me.

It’s brilliant to hear this from Dan – a great man – as he did create a bond with the fans, and did garner somewhat of a cult hero status at the club.

If not for his injuries, Sturridge could well have been regarded as one of the world’s finest strikers, but his fitness sadly let him down.

When he managed to string together a few games, his form was unreal – especially when playing with Luis Suarez. Thank you for the memories, Studge.
