Manchester City’s likely XI v Liverpool, with various injuries affecting Pep’s side

Manchester City have a number of injuries right now, including Leroy Sane, Aymeric Laporte, Ole Zinchenko and David Silva – with both Rodri and goalkeeper Ederson doubts.

According to WhoScored though, the last two names mentioned will be fit to start at Anfield on Sunday.

They suggest the Brazilian will start between the sticks, with Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy at fullback.

Fernandinho will partner John Stones at the back, with Nicolas Otamendi on the bench.

The midfield three will consist of Rodri holding, with Kevin de Bruyne and Bernardo Silva either side. WhoScored reckon Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez will flank Sergio Aguero.

For us, we actually think Bernardo may take Mahrez’s spot in the front-three and instead Pep will use Ilkay Gundogan in the middle three for added solidity.

Whoever they choose though, it’ll be an incredible side and a mighty opponent.

Liverpool’s side picks itself, for us. Alisson in goal, Trent and Robbo at fullback, with Lovren and van Dijk in defence. Fabinho will hold, with Hendo and Gini either side – with the usual front-three – Salah, Mane and Firmino – looking to put City’s defence to the sword.
